Amenti Light

suspension lamp based on the principles of statics

New lighting product, Inspired from the work of Alexander Calder who is known for being the imaginative pioneer of kinetic art. I design suspended lamp that seem to float in
the air, applying the basic principle of static equilibrium achieved by cieling balance, as if capturing the lightness and dynamism of Calder’s art works.

MOODBOARD
OBJECTIVE
  • Balance and lightness
  • Aesthetic value
  • Suspension
  • Recognizable
CONCEPT

I started by trying to reinterpret Calder’s works by creating small models with the

materials I had at home. Thus, I was ‘forced’ to work with essential forms that

allowed me to better understand mechanical dynamics.

The user is also involved emotionally, because you are caught by surprise effects due to the release of the forms. These float in the host environment, being affected by all the sensitive changes associated with them.
